Grounds Working Group

The Grounds Working Group consists of a team of volunteers who meet on Thursday mornings to maintain and generally look after the sites belonging to the Parish Council – as highlighted on the Green and Open Spaces page. More information can be found in Grounds Management Plan.

In the summer, the work mainly consists of mowing the grass of the playing fields for the cricket outfield, summer football pitches and play areas.

New Equipment for the Grounds Team
Thanks to the Football Foundation, the Parish Council has received a grant to purchase a new tractor to help with the maintenance of the Risinghurst Playing Field for football pitches on behalf of Headington Youth Football Club.

The tractor, a Kubota L1-382 was delivered on 25th March and other equipment will be delivered shortly. This will greatly enhance the ability of the team to keep the grounds in tip-top condition. Sadly, the old tractor, a 1968 Nuffield 4/25 had to be sold and has gone to a collector of tractors. It had been a great workhorse for the Council over the years but was a little temperamental in more recent times.
